Amichien® Bonding

After researching the communication of wolves and wild dogs, Jan realised the key was to be accepted as pack leader, in the 4 pack rituals.

The method addresses the 4 elements where leadership is displayed, Feeding, Hunting (walk), Reuniting (status) and Perceived Danger. Your dog is constantly trying to understand its position in the pack and therefore, what job is it tasked to perform. It is natural to think that since an owner provides food, shelter and security, that they must be the leader but this needs to be communicated in a language your dog understands. Applying this technique in a calm consistent manner will enable you to do this. Making simple lifestyle changes can transform the relationship with your dog.

Jan Fennell “The Dog Listener” developed Amichien® Bonding.

An experienced breeder and obedience trainer, Jan wanted a kinder, less confrontational and more holistic training method. In 1990, Jan was inspired after watching and talking with Monty Roberts, “The Horse Whisperer”.

I used to look at my dog Smokey & think, “If you were a little smarter you could tell me what you’re thinking,” & he’d look at me like he was saying, “If you were a little smarter I wouldn’t have to.”
